The role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a cleaner for NDIS participants. The cleaner will play a crucial role in providing cleaning services to individuals who are participants of the NDIS. This role requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail to ensure a safe and clean environment for NDIS participants.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Cleaning Services: Perform thorough cleaning duties in accordance with the specific needs and preferences of NDIS participants. Tasks may include: Vacuuming carpets and upholstery / Sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors / Dusting surfaces, including furniture, shelves, and electronics / Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails / Washing windows and mirrors /Emptying and sanitising trash bins.
- Cleaning and organising common areas such as living rooms, dining rooms, and hallways.
- Adherence WHS Standards: Ensure all cleaning activities comply with health and safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of appropriate cleaning agents and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a hygienic environment.
- Respect for Participant Privacy and Dignity: Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and dignity of NDIS participants while providing cleaning services in their homes or designated spaces.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including detailed task lists, cleaning schedules, and any incidents or observations, in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Work independently to ensure contractual obligations are met and exceeded, promptly reporting any on-site issues to management.
About you
- Experience: Previous experience in professional cleaning services is preferred, particularly in residential or healthcare settings. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or vulnerable populations is an asset.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with cleaning techniques, equipment, and products suitable for various surfaces and environments. Understanding of infection control principles and procedures is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals, including people with disabilities, their families, and support workers.
- Reliability and Trustworthiness: Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting the privacy of NDIS participants.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities, and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as required.
Travel, equipment/chemical reimbursement is provided.
Successful candidates are required to completed required screening checks such as police check and working rights.
