Queensland Rail is seeking a visionary and commercially astute leader to guide the journey of our Travel business. As Senior Manager Travel, you'll be responsible for driving the commercial success of our long-distance travel and tourism services—leading customer service innovation, product development, brand strategy, and sales growth across the state.
This is more than a leadership role—it's a chance to shape the future of regional tourism and customer experience in Queensland. You'll oversee a team of 160 professionals across 10 Travel Centres throughout Queensland, our Contact Centre, and digital platforms, ensuring seamless service delivery and strategic growth. Your leadership will directly impact regional economies, tourism partnerships, and the lives of thousands of passengers.

- Strategic Leadership: Set the direction for Travel Centres, Contact Centre, digital enablement, and customer-facing systems.
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Own the commercial outcomes for QR's tourism offerings, driving revenue and market share.
- Customer-Centric Innovation: Champion product enhancements, policy development, and training that elevate the passenger experience.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with tourism operators, government departments, industry bodies, and diverse customer groups including seniors, First Nations peoples, and people with disabilities.

What We're Looking For
- Proven leadership in transport, tourism, logistics, or complex service industries
- Experience managing large, regionally dispersed teams
- Strong stakeholder management across government and industry
- A background in government or regulated environments (preferred)
- Passion for regional development and tourism
- A calm, insightful leader driven by genuine curiosity, and a passion for making a meaningful impact.
- A collaborative spirit that supports and challenges existing leadership to improve outcomes

Remuneration & Employment Type
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at any of our Queensland Travel offices, offering a competitive remuneration package and relocation if required.
The role includes regular travel to maintain strong, visible support across teams and ensure effective regional engagement.
