About the role:

Joining our Networks Operations team, this role is responsible for the installation and maintenance of network and optical equipment, while managing day-to-day fibre patching to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.

You'll support carrier partners in establishing and maintaining their presence within our facilities, contributing to reliable connectivity and strong stakeholder relationships.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and monitor fibre optic and network equipment, responding to alarms and alerts using monitoring tools.
  • Provide expert connectivity advice and support to internal and external stakeholders, including fault finding assistance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and act as a Subject Matter Expert across data centre operations.
  • Manage and update network topology, asset records, and configuration data for all networking equipment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Work independently and collaboratively across regions, occasionally outside normal business hours.
  • Represent the company professionally in meetings, committees, and stakeholder engagements.

About you:

This role is the perfect opportunity for someone with foundational experience in IT who desires to stream into telecommunications and networking technologies. You might come from a helpdesk, IT support role, or have a technical services background, or recently completed studies in relevant fields. Most importantly, you're curious, eager to learn and excited about building a career in the data centre and connectivity space with access to experienced senior mentors.

You'll bring:

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong interest in networking technologies and fibre cabling.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills across hardware and network infrastructure.
  • Good documentation habits and an understanding of compliance frameworks like ITIL.
  • Experience in ICT and an active AGSVA clearance is advantageous but not mandatory.

Essential:

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
