Inventory Officer

The Inventory Officer is responsible for inventory control and supporting supply chain activities, as required.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Control inventory levels by providing support and direction to control allocation and replenishment of stock on EDL sites.
- Proactively work with Suppliers to ensure accuracy of EDL parts catalogue including parts pricing, description, and supersession/obsolescence.
- Undertake assessment and processing of Australian Stock Change Requests, ensuring that effective inventory solutions are applied.
- Manage the lifecycle of inventory items into the Inventory Management system, including the entry and of new items in the system.
- Continuously review and monitor inventory categories across all stakeholder groups to ensure components are correctly identified and moved around the supply chain expeditiously to maximise availability of products to EDL sites.
- Monitor and investigate supply and returns of rotable product to and from sites to ensure data integrity held in inventory systems.
- Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation or alternative, lower cost supply chains.
- Interact with internal customers to understand their "local/operational" requirements and provide accurate information/training about group processes and goals
- Understand the Group procurement tools, templates and capability building initiatives and assist with their implementation and ongoing use across the business.
- Assist with training of EDL personnel in the use of the Inventory Management system
- Adopt fair and ethical conduct in all dealings and comply with all company policies and procedures as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors
- Assist with Australian operating site stocktakes.

Person Specification
- High level of personal integrity and respect for ethical practices
- Supply chain related management, governance, monitoring and reporting. Qualifications in Supply / Inventory Management will be highly regarded.
- Organisational and planning skills to manage supply chain related activities including policy, process and procedure and to work within agreed priorities and specified timeframes
- Adhere to and promote the business's values and Code of Conduct and represent the organisation with integrity and professionalism, demonstrating personal drive, focus and energy to achieve key outcomes for the organisation and encourage these behaviours in others
- Ability to travel interstate if required
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Previous Inventory Control experience (3-5 years)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including SharePoint at an intermediate level
- Knowledge of financial systems, Oracle or equivalent ERP systems
- Demonstrated understanding of the concept of customer service in a procurement environment particularly as it applies to EDL.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards for Cataloguing
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in Inventory/Rotables or related discipline.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications at intermediate level.
- Knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, guidelines, principles and practices applicable to Procurement policies, OH&S.
- Intermediate interpersonal and communication skills and strong customer focus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and achieve targets.
- Sound knowledge in the use of ERP and PC office based software applications.
Desirable
- Tertiary level qualifications relevant to the role.
- Previous Inventory Control experience (5-10 years)
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate lead and motivate others towards the achievement of objectives.
- Experience with Oracle
- Experience with equipment used in Electrical Generation.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
