The Position:

We are currently seeking a person who enjoys:

This position will support two functions in our business through Warehouse logistics including receiving, storing and preparing orders. Responsibilities will include:

  • Inbound Receipting
  • Picking
  • Outwards Processing
  • Inventory Control
  • Warehouse management for multiple stock items

Role Overview:

The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure that all picking, packing, and deliveries are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time. This role is hands-on and focused on managing casual warehouse staff, maintaining productivity and quality standards, and ensuring a safe, organised work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Supervise and coordinate casual warehouse staff during shifts.
  • Train, motivate, and monitor staff performance to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in rostering and allocating staff to meet daily workload requirements.
  • Promote a positive, safety-conscious, and team-oriented culture.

Operations & Logistics

  • Oversee daily picking, packing, and dispatch operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely deliveries.
  • Support inbound and outbound goods management, including stock movement, loading, and unloading.
  • Ensure all orders are fulfilled accurately and within set timeframes.
  • Coordinate with drivers, couriers, and logistics partners to manage delivery schedules.

Inventory & Systems

  • Assist with stock control, inventory counts, and reporting.
  • Maintain warehouse records and ensure system accuracy for stock movements.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or operational bottlenecks.

Safety & Compliance

  • Uphold OH&S and warehouse safety standards at all times.
  • Ensure equipment and storage areas are kept clean, organised, and hazard-free.
  • Report and help resolve any safety incidents promptly.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of warehouse systems, inventory control, and logistics operations.
  • Forklift licence (preferred).

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations.
  • Previous experience supervising or training staff highly regarded.
  • Basic computer skills (inventory software, Excel, etc.).
  • Must always hold a valid and unrestricted drivers licence
  • Computer skills including Gmail
  • Desire for a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail
  • Have a solid history of being a reliable employee
  • Have a can do attitude and zeal for continuous improvement
  • Capable of working independently once trained

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $55,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Campbellfield VIC 3061: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Warehouse: 1 year (Required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Forklift Licence (Preferred)
