Salary - GR7/8 $113,574.00 to $125,720.00 plus superannuation

Your role

The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) is the lead agency in the Communities and Justice Portfolio. Communities and Justice aims to achieve a safe, just, and inclusive New South Wales (NSW) by operating an effective legal system; increasing access to social and affordable housing; protecting children and families; addressing domestic and family violence; promoting public safety; reducing reoffending; and supporting community harmony and social cohesion.

You will provide program management services across a large-scale strategic program or a range of smaller programs which directly contribute to better outcomes for individuals, families, groups and communities

What you'll do

Providing a range of program related services your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Contribute to the design, implementation and coordination of DCJ programs in line with organisational objectives, which deliver effective business unit outcomes and meet client service delivery needs.

Undertake aspects of contracting, procurement, tendering and homelessness programs including the preparation of budget estimates and performance reporting.

  • Liaise with District staff and service delivery partners to ensure programs align with service delivery needs and requirements while achieving desired outcomes.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of internal policies, regulations and guidelines on contracting and service procurement to ensure compliance, good practice and fairness for providers and clients.
  • Use project management methodologies and processes across DCJ to ensure consistent high quality outcomes.

What we're looking for

  • Sound experience in a similar role
  • Experienced in engaging with diverse stakeholders to ensure reform programs and initiatives including widespread consultation and fostering a cooperative approach.
  • Strong writing and communication skills including superior attention to detail
  • Experience in procurement processes and experience in the government sector will be well regarded.
