About Macquarie Grammar School

Your Role:
As a valued member of our teaching team, you'll deliver rigorous, NESA-aligned programs and support the diverse needs of our vibrant student population. We seek classroom leaders who are committed to excellence, integrity, and student wellbeing, and who thrive in multicultural, forward-looking school communities.
Selection Criteria (all roles):
- Relevant teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation (or eligibility)
- Demonstrated experience and passion in your specialty area
- Commitment to inclusive practice and ability to support students for whom English is an additional language
- High-level interpersonal, organisational, and ICT skills
- Exceptional communication skills, collegiality, and initiative
- Evidence of recent professional learning and reflective practice
Science Teacher (Physics & Chemistry)
- Deliver rigorous, engaging lessons in Physics and Chemistry for Years 7–12 (including HSC)
- Differentiate for and inspire a multicultural, academically diverse student body
- Foster curiosity, practical skills, critical thinking, and academic achievement
- Collaborate on curriculum design, assessment, and enrichment activities
- Uphold outstanding professional standards and a collegial, future-focused approach
Selection Criteria:
- Accredited Science teaching qualifications (NESA or eligibility)
- Demonstrated expertise in NSW Physics and Chemistry, including Stage 6/HSC
- Ability to inspire and differentiate for diverse learners, including international students
- Strong planning, assessment, ICT, and engagement skills
- School experience and/or international student support highly regarded
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
High School Preparation Teacher
- Teach high school-aged international students with beginner/emerging English levels in literacy-rich, generalist transition classes
- Focus on building practical English literacy for success in high school subjects (English, Maths, Science, Humanities)
- Scaffold language learning across all academic contexts, using creative and accessible resources
- Differentiate and support EAL/D/ESL learners, fostering inclusion, wellbeing, and confidence
- Collaborate with colleagues, student support, and families to enable smooth academic and social transition
Selection Criteria:
- Recognised teaching qualifications (NESA accreditation, EAL/D / Literacy specialist, TESOL etc.)
- Extensive experience teaching English language/literacy to international or EAL/D students (upper primary/lower secondary age)
- Skill in curriculum differentiation, resource creation, and supporting multicultural cohorts
- Breadth across generalist curriculum and ability to integrate language/literacy into core subjects
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and cultural competence
- School experience and/or additional subject specialisation highly regarded
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
