If you're passionate about precision work, teamwork, and continuous improvement, this is the opportunity for you
About the Role:
As a Mechanical Assembler, you'll play a key role in the assembly and modification of compressed air equipment and associated products. This role is designed for those with a higher level of skill, qualifications, or experience than a trade assistant, but who may not have formal trade qualifications.
What You'll Do:
- Mechanical Assembly: Competently assemble and modify compressors, trailer kits, piping, fittings, and more, ensuring all components meet required specifications.
- Use of Tools: Safely and skillfully operate hand tools for tasks such as cutting, grinding, and drilling, as well as forklifts, cranes, and workshop utility vehicles (once licensed).
- Attention to Detail: Apply decals, labels, and signage, polish and clean equipment, and ensure paint repairs are completed to the highest standard.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures, including using Step back 5x5 tools and completing job safety analysis for more complex tasks.
- Documentation: Accurately complete job cards, timesheets, and related paperwork in a neat and timely manner.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on processes and contribute to improving assembly practices.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally assist with commissioning, fault finding, or repairs on customer sites.
What We're Looking For:
- A strong safety focus, always prioritizing a clean and safe work environment.
- A team-oriented attitude, collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- The initiative to start tasks independently and a results-driven work ethic.
- Solid organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to stay up to date with company training and processes.
Why Join CAPS? At CAPS Australia, we value our people. You'll have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to contribute to process improvements, and the chance to work in a supportive, dynamic team environment.
If you're a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual ready for a challenging and rewarding role, apply today to become part of the CAPS Australia family
