The Role

Bannisters Port Stephens are excited to announce an opportunity for a Spa Manager to join our passionate team at Spa Bannisters. You will be integral in leading our small but specialised Spa team to success.

About Bannisters Port Stephens

Located on Soldiers Point peninsula, Spa Bannisters is situated onsite at luxury beachside retreat, Bannisters Port Stephens. Set among an abundance of natural beauty in Port Stephens' 'blue water paradise,' our 78-room hotel is a local icon, reimagined with a subtle nod to Palm Springs. Spa Bannisters, featured in Vogue Australia, blends our love of beautiful, calming spaces with bespoke, personalised service.

The role and key duties

  • Curate the best guest experience by offering and ensuring the Spa team always deliver personalised Spa experiences and treatments that reflects the unique needs of each guest;
  • Have a strong and thorough knowledge of all products used, treatments and services offered by the spa, including use of essential oils, herbal and mineral therapies to assist in body recovery;
  • Provide various health and wellness treatments and beauty services including soft tissue body massage;
  • Oversee scheduling, inventory management, and maintenance of spa facilities to ensure a seamless and luxurious experience for guests, maintaining accurate records of treatments within the guest profile for future reference;
  • Share responsibility for optimising spa bookings and revenue, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, and upsell our guests on additional services to maximise their experience and revenue for the Hotel;
  • Ensure that all equipment is thoroughly sanitised between uses, set up and prepare for treatments and refresh the space promptly after each session, maintaining a clean, organised Spa environment;
  • Assist in training staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring they stay current with industry trends and techniques;
  • Follow all applicable workplace health and safety guidelines, minimise risk and ensure compliance at all times.

Essential criteria required to be considered

  • Certificate IV or Diploma qualifications in Remedial Massage and/or Beauty Therapy (Essential);
  • Experience in leading and training a team;
  • Experience in providing beauty treatments such as massage, manicures/pedicures, and face/body therapies in a luxury Spa environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, high attention to detail and friendly manner;
  • Ability and willingness to commence work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays;
  • Reliable vehicle to get to and from work.
