About us: The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.

About your role:

Effectively function in a team environment of administrative officers, reporting through the Administration Team Leaders to the Divisional Director of Division of Integrated Medicine, Emergency, Child and Youth Services.

Manage appointment booking services, processing referrals, sourcing and retrieving patient information, and scheduling appointments in a timely and efficient manner in line with clinician specifications and the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service's 'Administrative Procedure Manual'.

Management of the referral waitlist to ensure all bookings are made within the urgency category timeframe. Weekly auditing of the waitlist utilising necessary reporting tools. Ensuring open lines of communication with the triaging clinicians, escalating any referrals with the potential of breaching the urgency category thresholds.
