We are currently seeking 2 x Local Allocators to join our team at our depot based in Laverton North VIC.

About You:

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Victorian road network.
  • Knowledge of NHVR regulations and fatigue management.
  • Ability to build strong customer relations and offer a high level of customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and have a sense of urgency.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the logistics industry.
  • Experience within the refrigerated transport sector desired.

About the Role:

  • Monday to Friday with occasional weekend shifts.
  • Different shift times available.
  • Managing a core group of local drivers for DC collections and store deliveries across metro Brisbane.
  • Coordinating the loading and unloading of local rigids, semi trailers and B doubles.
  • Dispatching drivers according to local delivery and pickups time slots.
  • Dispatching all freight with the correct paperwork for delivery.
  • Planning and rostering drivers and loads for the next shift.
  • Liaising with other states about inbound ETAs.
  • Ensuring all loads are captured recorded thought our TMS.
  • Ensure that all emails in the Victorian Operations email inbox are followed up and filed once actioned.
  • Ensure all local manifest for each driver have been created.
  • Report any issues and escalate where necessary.
  • Responding to all customer enquiries delivery incidents / issues, arrival times or late deliveries / pickups via email and phone call.
  • Escalating and flagging late pick-ups / deliveries with customers via phone and then confirm with emails.
  • Ensure written/verbal hand-over is given to the next shift.
  • Coordinating and checking fleet availability
  • Ensure driver run sheets are signed off and are completed correctly.
  • Ensuring drivers complete internal paperwork daily as required such as Pre-Check Inspections and Run Sheets.
  • Ensuring drivers demonstrate safe work practices at all times.
  • Coaching and mentoring the driver group, particularly drivers new to the business.
  • Confirmation of plans with customers and sending any relevant booking information to them in a timely manner.
  • Behaving in a professional manner to all internal and external stakeholders at all times.
