Role Detail

KWM is entering into an exciting phase of its digital transformation journey, and this is an opportunity to lead and shape the digital products and ventures at the firm.  You'll work on high-impact initiatives that shape the future of legal services, all while enjoying a flexible, supportive environment that values technical excellence and innovative thinking.

Joining the Development and Integration Team, reporting to the Development and Integration Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end design, development and testing of modern advanced software solutions and processes on premises and Azure environments. You will work across multiple areas of the business including those which integrate with existing and future systems.

Based in the recently refurbished Sydney CBD office, and with a balanced approach to WFH, you will collaborate with key stakeholders and work to enhance the firm's existing technology platforms into integrated productivity functions. You will be responsible for adhering to ITSM processes and security policies as well as software development lifecycle disciplines.

The role involves a balanced mix of hands-on development and other solution-related tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architect, design, and develop enterprise level solutions across the firm that integrate front-end and back-end systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Design, develop, and deploy comprehensive technical solutions that meet specific business needs and objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions that deliver measurable value to the organisation.
  • Manage the development and implementation of solutions in line with project timelines and service level objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing technologies and integrate new and emerging technologies, particularly AI and productivity tools, where applicable.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and maintain existing applications and integrations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders ensuring alignment and shared understanding of project statuses.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation for all deployed solutions.
  • Adhere to established methodologies and best practices at KWM, including change management and incident response protocols.

About You

We're looking for someone who is adaptable, proactive, and thrives in a dynamic environment. You'll be confident working independently or as part of a team, taking ownership of challenges and collaborating across functions to deliver results.

You're not just a developer — you're a problem-solver, a collaborator, and a technical leader who's eager to contribute to a team that values innovation and continuous improvement. If you enjoy sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and finding smart solutions to problems, keep reading.

You will also need:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience developing enterprise modern technical solutions by understanding both technical and non-technical requirements provided by internal and external clients.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development.
  • Ability to decide on and articulate a technical solution to solve a business problem.
  • Strong knowledge of C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, Entity Framework Core, and SQL Server.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing solutions in Microsoft Azure.
  • Solid understanding of relational database design, stored procedures, and query optimisation.
  • Familiarity with React, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript for building user interfaces.
  • Practical experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban).

  • Experience working with Git, agile delivery practices, DevOps pipelines, and CI/CD tools.
