The Opportunity
KBR Defence and Technology Solutions (D&TS) is a leader in Defence Mission Planning System development and integration. We uniquely combine aviation mission planning environments, operational and engineering support, training, agile software development, and systems implementation – enhancing today's Defence capabilities while designing tomorrow's Mission Planning Environments.

Information Systems Technicians
who want to contribute to the deployment of secure government systems in support of Defence.
This EOI is designed to identify professionals who would like to be considered for potential upcoming opportunities within our agile network development teams, specifically supporting the
Mission Planning Environment (MPE)
program, critical to current and future Australian Defence Force capabilities.
About The Role
As an Information Systems Technician with KBR D&TS, you will:
- Apply your skills in the development, integration, and deployment of security-accredited ICT systems.
- Work closely with technical colleagues and Defence stakeholders to provide IT technical and administration support for Mission Planning Systems.
- Support the sustainment, security, and evolution of ICT systems across fixed and deployed environments.
- Play a key role in ensuring mission systems meet the operational needs of users.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Supporting development, introduction to service, sustainment, and enhancement of mission planning software and hardware.
- Maintenance and configuration of physical servers, networking hardware, and mission planning laptops.
- Installing, configuring, testing, and deploying software.
- Providing support on Defence strategic networks.
- Assisting with security accreditation activities for Mission Planning Systems.
- Identifying and managing technical risks, while contributing to program documentation and reporting.
About You
We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience in Defence ICT environments and skills in areas such as:
- MS Windows platforms (including imaging, security, and server environments).
- Administration of client operating systems (Windows 10–11).
- Software scripting, configuration management, and Office applications.
- Understanding of Defence ICT security accreditation requirements.
Desirable experience includes:
- Aviation Mission Planning systems and AC-C2CS environment.
- Networking (Layer 2/3), Linux systems administration, SQL databases, VMware/Hyper-V, McAfee, and geospatial data.
- Software testing, backup/recovery tools, and advanced Office applications.
