About Northern Health:
As an organisation we have a clear focus on how we service and partner with our community, including our strategy of helping the community stay well when at home. Our reputation of community minded, inclusive and progressive is matched to none.
Northern Health is located in the rapidly growing northern suburbs with projected growth the biggest in the state. With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour's drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourne's North is fast becoming the place to be.
Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Virtual Care Support Officer to join the virtual Pulmonary Rehabilitation team.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the establishment of thestatewide Virtual Pulmonary Rehabilitation (VPR) Service, the first of its kind in Victoria. The service is designed to improve health outcomes and equity by providing people living with chronic lung conditions access to high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation without the barriers of distance, mobility, or digital literacy.
As a Virtual Care Support Officer, you will be at the frontline of this innovative model of care. You will:
- Support patients and carers to access and navigate the My App and digital care pathways.
- Provide practical assistance and troubleshooting to enhance digital confidence and engagement.
- Deliver administrative support including appointment scheduling, referral coordination, patient record management, correspondence, and equipment distribution.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside allied health, nursing, medical and CLEO staff to ensure seamless, person-centred care.
- Help reduce barriers to care by supporting patients with low digital literacy, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and those experiencing inequities in access.
This role combines digital health, patient engagement, and administrative expertise to enable safe, efficient, and innovative healthcare delivery.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Strong digital skills and confidence with apps, devices, and systems, and the ability to assist others in building digital literacy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity in supporting patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated administrative experience, with attention to detail in scheduling, records management, and correspondence.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and safe, person-centred care.
- The ability to work flexibly, adapt to new systems, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Next Steps . . .
If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.
