Blackburn, Victoria, Australia HKG Full time $80,000 - $90,000 per year

HKG is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hello Kitchen Group, responsible for overseeing product imports and warehousing operations. As our business continues to grow rapidly across Australia, we are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Accountant to manage the accounting functions of both HKG and the broader group entities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian accounting standards.

· Develop and manage accounting systems for tracking financial transactions, costs, and inventory valuations.

· Analyse financial performance, margins, and cost structures to provide management with insights for decision-making.

· Oversee tax compliance including BAS lodgement, GST reconciliation, and corporate income tax calculations.

· Conduct cost accounting for imported goods, including landed cost allocation and foreign currency adjustments.

· Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal adjustments and reconciliation tasks.

· Coordinate with external accountants and auditors during annual audits and statutory reporting.

· Support budgeting, forecasting, and internal financial planning activities.

Requirements:

· Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally with 5+ years of hands-on experience in a commercial or import/export business environment

· Strong practical knowledge of financial reporting, inventory costing, and tax compliance

· Familiarity with accounting systems such as MYOB, Xero, or other similar software

· High level of accuracy, responsibility, and integrity in handling financial data

· Strong communication and organisational skills

· Chinese language skills are a plus, due to regular liaison with suppliers and partners
