Are you passionate about delivering high-quality customer service and providing accurate HR advice? We're seeking an APS4 Service Liaison Officer to join the People Advisory Centre (PAC) within a federal government agency.

The People Advisory Centre is a centralised support hub that provides consistent HR advice and assistance to staff across the country. The role offers the opportunity to build your HR knowledge, work in a supportive team environment, and contribute to the delivery of critical people services.

  • Located - Brisbane CBD
  • APS4 equivalent - $50 + p/h + superannuation
  • Work environment: Rostered shifts between 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Temporary, casual labor on hire assignment

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nationally consistent advice to staff on HR policies, pay and allowances, employment conditions, and performance management.
  • Respond to enquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely and accurate information.
  • Assist with more complex payroll and HR processing using SAP-Essentials.
  • Escalate sensitive or multifaceted matters to senior staff or specialist HR teams when required.
  • Contribute to knowledge management by updating PAC resources with policy and legislative changes.
  • Support PAC Service Officers through coaching, feedback, and quality assurance.
  • Undertake administrative tasks, including purchase orders, reconciliations, and staff inductions.
  • Other duties as required

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Must be Australian Citizen
  • Be able to pass a national police check
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to analyse customer enquiries and provide tailored advice.
  • A customer-focused approach with proven ability to build positive relationships.
  • High-level computer literacy, particularly with databases and spreadsheets.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, payroll processes, and contemporary HR practices (desirable).
