About the RoleAs a General Hand/Apprentice, you'll play an essential role in keeping our parks, open spaces, and community facilities safe, vibrant, and well-maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the City's parks, gardens, and infrastructure to a high standard.
- Operating and maintaining tools, machinery, and other equipment.
- Processing timesheets, work orders, and related documentation.
- Liaising with colleagues, contractors, and the public.
- Participating in training and professional development opportunities.
- Ensuring compliance with City policies, safety procedures, and workplace legislation.

To be successful, you'll need:
- Basic knowledge or experience in Horticulture or parks maintenance.
- The ability to balance study and on-the-job training
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to adapt to change.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Capacity for manual outdoor labour.
- A valid C-class driver's licence.
- A Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card).
- An understanding of workplace safety, hazard identification, and safe work practices.
