About the role
The Technical Officer (Facilities) will work collaboratively to deliver cost-effective, contemporary and customer-focused facility management across Council-owned and managed facilities throughout the region.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the implementation of asset management strategies, plans and programs for facility and building assets
- Coordinate maintenance and repair work for building assets
- Engage, coordinate and manage contractors, trades and specialist service providers
- Provide informed maintenance and building-related advice to internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate asset management data and contribute to continuous improvement

About you
You will be customer focused and encourage collaboration through clear communication and a consultative approach, ensuring stakeholders are well informed throughout the process. You will be able to work within established guidelines, manage competing priorities, and perform well under pressure to deliver outcomes on time, within budget, and in line with stakeholder expectations.
You will also be forward-thinking, always looking for opportunities to improve how we deliver services and achieve the best possible outcomes for our community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and technical expertise in the maintenance and operation of built assets and infrastructure
- Experience in property or facilities management and/or asset management
- Proven experience in contractor engagement and management
- Project management experience
- A sound understanding of relevant Building Standards, Codes, Regulations and Acts
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at both strategic and operational levels
- High-level communication, consultative, interpersonal and negotiation skills (both written and verbal)
