The Traffic Planner is responsible for with carrying out traffic related investigations and
recommending solutions that address the problems. The Traffic Planner will also assist the Traffic Manager to prepare monthly reports and prepare works instructions to install traffic management devices and carry out ongoing maintenance and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare accurate Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS's), Traffic Management Plans (TMP's), VMS Strategy's etc.
- Applying for and monitoring compliance with any Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) issued by Network Access Coordination team within Customer Journey Management.
- Assist the Traffic Manager in the managements of subcontractors in the preparation of staging plans, traffic guidance schemes, traffic management plans.
- Negotiation and receiving agreement on traffic management plans.
- Approving Traffic Guidance Schemes and Traffic Management Plans (Where required) for individual tasks including those of sub-contractors.
- Maintaining a strong relationship with Customer Journey Management (TMC).
- Assisting the Traffic Manager with liaison with Stakeholders regarding traffic impacts and negotiation of major closures to ensure the project is delivered with minimal disruption.
- Develop Risk Assessments in line with the TGS's, TMP's etc.
- Assist the Traffic Manager with scheduling operations.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in TTM Required, TC, ITCP, PWZTMP with demonstrated experience in traffic and/or transport engineering.
- Current Driver's License
- Knowledge of relevant Standards, procedures and TfNSW technical directives relating to traffic management.
- A practical knowledge of current standards and practice for bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
- Experience in working in a team and a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Rapid Plan experience.
- AutoCAD/ Mircostation/ 12D/ JAMS/ GIS experience is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding TfNSW and Australian Standards guidelines.
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills
