About The Role
We have a newly created role to work in our internal General Counsel team. Reporting to the firm's General Counsel, this role will have the following responsibilities:

  • Reviewing client terms of engagement, request for tender documents, and panel terms.
  • Reviewing and negotiating the firm's contracts with suppliers (including IT contracts).
  • Drafting and reviewing non-disclosure agreements
  • Providing advice to lawyers and partners regarding professional conduct issues, including the requirements of the Solicitors' Conduct Rules.
  • Providing legal and regulatory advice to the firm regarding internal innovation projects.
  • Assisting with the firm's Anti-Modern Slavery and privacy compliance programs
  • Assisting in the implementation of internal processes for compliance with new legislation, regulation and best practice (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, conflict checking and matter opening processes).
  • Drafting firm policies
  • Legal research on compliance and regulatory issues affecting the firm and its employees.
  • Assisting the General Counsel and Special Counsel with ad hoc risk and compliance issues, as required.

About You
You will be a qualified lawyer, with 2-3+ years' experience. You may be coming from private practice in a corporate/commercial team or in an in-house General Counsel/compliance/risk team. You will have a strong interest in risk and be looking to grow your career in this area. To be successful in this role, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prioritise your work, and strong attention to detail.

You will be joining a collaborative and growing team that does interesting work and partners with all areas of the business in managing risk.
