As a Family and Domestic Violence Outreach Worker, you'll walk alongside people affected by family and domestic violence, supporting them to regain safety, stability, and confidence. You'll actively listen to their needs, advocate for access to vital services, and help create plans that put their wellbeing first. By working closely with community partners, police, and other support organisations, you'll help individuals and families overcome challenges, reduce harm, and build lasting resilience. This meaningful work welcomes applicants passionate about empowering people from all backgrounds, especially Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally diverse communities.

This is a part time (18 hours per week) opportunity until 30 June 2026 based in Kununurra.

What you will bring

To be successful you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology or related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with clients who have been impacted by family and domestic violence .
  • Experience providing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (ATSI) and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) clients.
  • A developed understanding of the dynamics of family and domestic violence.
  • Excellent case management, written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of best practice guidelines and principles in relation to family and domestic violence.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution, advocacy and negotiation skills

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year and a WA Drivers Licence.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • From $86,950 per annum (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation
  • Rent subsidy $250 per week and electricity allowance $1000 per annum
  • In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 + $2,600 for entertainment expenses per annum and not pay tax on that amount
  • Additional 8 days (pro-rata) leave per year over the festive period
  • Ability to purchase additional leave
