Santa Monica is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and team focused Chef.

Our Operational days are Wednesday to Saturday, Giving you lifestyle balance in a senior role within hospitality.

Our Venue is Family Owned with owners that regularly work alongside on shift from day to day that offer a wealth of knowledge along with a lot of friendly banter. It's important to recognize that we are not a large pub group, nor do we operate like one, we have a solid and true connection with all our staff and offer personal and commercial growth in the role.

We pride ourselves on not only on top notch venues, but on helping the people who work for us to achieve goals in their personal and professional lives. You are the backbone of what we do, it makes perfect sense to support steer our employees not only in the workplace but also their personal lives, such as saving for a house for example. It is the personal touch to this job which makes us different.

Main duties/ Responsibilities:

· Preparation/cooking of foods and daily menus

· Oversee quality of preparation and presentation of all food

· Communicate food preparation issues with managers and staff

· Provide example of how to cook foods and what procedures are in place

· Train staff

· Improve food quality and ensure high quality is consistent

· Preservation and freezing of produce

· Check and maintain equipment, tools, utensils, and machineries- report any issues

· Any other duties as directed by the restaurant manager or the directors

· Maintain occupational, hygiene, health and safety regulations and any other applicable laws

The Successful candidate will possess the following skills:

Strong work ethics, commitment to learn and further your cooking skills.

Work well under pressure in a high volume a la carte restaurant.

Challenge driven with a strong passion for continued learning.

Diploma of Hospitality Management or 3 year's experience as a chef

Personal Requirements:

  • Well-presented
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Consistently display a positive "can do" attitude
