About the work unit / facility
The Townsville Public Health Unit (TPHU) protects community health by focusing on populations rather than individuals. TPHU works with health services, government, councils, NGOs, researchers, and community groups to reduce communicable diseases and environmental health risks. The multidisciplinary team includes public health physicians, nurses, Indigenous health workers, environmental health officers, epidemiologists, entomologists, health promoters, and support staff.

Competitive salary and benefits
- Salary between $ – $ per fortnight (AO6).
- 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with % loading.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity
As the Assistant Business Services Manager, you will provide expert financial and business management advice to support the strategic and operational goals of the Townsville Public Health Unit. You will lead business support functions, manage compliance, and contribute to service delivery improvements across finance, HR, procurement, and contract management.
Requirements
- Highly regarded: Demonstrated experience in financial and business management within a complex environment.
- Strong leadership and team supervision capabilities.
- Knowledge of Queensland Health policies and financial legislation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A qualification in business is desirable but not mandatory.
- A probationary period may apply.
