About the role
In this newly created role, the primary objective of the DC (Distribution Centre) Planning Analyst is to assist in the operations analysis, solution design, and project delivery of initiatives that will drive efficiency, effectiveness, output, and value in our DC's and logistics operations. This includes analysing operational and logistics data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation, developing actionable strategies and plans to enhance DC and logistics performance, conducting root cause analysis on operational issues and creating and maintaining KPI dashboards for DC and logistics operations. The DC Planning Analyst will ultimately support ongoing supply chain process improvements.
Meet your new team
Our DC Operations team plays a vital role in managing all distribution centre (DC) and logistics activities at Directed Group. Led by the Group DC Manager, the Group DC Operations team is mandated to drive efficiencies that support stakeholders across our organisation globally, enhancing engagement, and supporting managers and staff to achieve their strategic goals through data-driven processes and planning.
How you will make an impact
This DC Planning Analyst provides critical insights and analysis that often initiates new projects and serves as a single source of truth for multiple business units across our supply chain. Some of the role responsibilities will include:
• Building an accurate model of the DC operations to support planning and forecasting.
• Creating and maintaining KPI dashboards for DC and logistics operations.
• Analysing DC and logistics operational data to identify trends and conducting root cause analysis on operational issues.
• Engaging with respective teams and managers to conduct a deep-dive data analysis and process mapping of the respective team/function/problem etc.
• Recommending areas for process improvements to leadership teams.
• Identify then support the delivery of new improvement projects that deliver significant operational savings and improvements.
• Engaging and coordinating respective stakeholders to assist in project delivery.
The successful candidate
With a passion for DC operations analysis, you will thrive working pragmatically with respective teams and managers to highlight the value brought through the role. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Experience in a similar DC/warehousing/logistics operational role, identifying and delivering meaningful reporting and insights on DC and logistics performance.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and logistics systems e.g. WMS and ERP.
• Creating documentation that clearly highlights issues, values, and benefits.
• Experience leading analysis, creating dashboards and providing support for multiple concurrent projects.
• Exceptional communications skills and working within a dynamic, high growth business environment.
• Formal qualifications in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
