About the Role
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, client-centred therapy to NDIS participants. The role involves supporting clients to achieve functional goals in both home and community environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement therapy programs designed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), sensory regulation, fine/gross motor skills, and functional mobility.
- Assist clients with community participation and social skill development.
- Support the use of adaptive equipment and therapeutic resources.
- Prepare materials and assist with therapy documentation.
- Monitor and report client progress to the supervising OT.
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to achieve client goals.
About You
We are seeking a compassionate, driven individual with a genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities.
Essential Criteria
- Currently studying Occupational Therapy (3rd/4th year undergraduates or 2nd-year Master's students encouraged to apply), or
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent, or
- Overseas-qualified Occupational Therapists.
- Experience working with people with disabilities or in a related healthcare setting.
- Understanding of NDIS goals, processes, and requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport.
