About the Role:
As a Mental Health Nurse Consultant, you will provide clinical nursing expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe mental health care. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will deliver expert nursing care, provide clinical leadership to other nurses, and coordinate projects and programs that enhance consumer and service outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering expert clinical mental health nursing care.
- Providing clinical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to nurses.
- Coordinating and leading projects and programs to improve mental health services.
- Supporting recovery-focused approaches across community, acute, and rehabilitation settings.
- Accepting accountability for your practice, professional advice, and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.

What We're Looking For:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Holds a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent).
- Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in the mental health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of multidisciplinary staff, student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and/or midwives.
- Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
