Group Financial Controller
Location: Subiaco, Perth
Who we are
We're Locale Property Group – the umbrella behind Locale Homes, Locale Wealth, and Locale Financial.
Our purpose? To help people build, grow, and own their futures. Whether it's finding the perfect first home, unlocking long-term wealth through property, or making finance feel less "finance-y," we're here to shake things up and make a real impact.
- Locale Homes is changing the game for first home buyers. We're an independent, customer-first building broker helping people navigate the process without the overwhelm.
- Locale Wealth empowers Australians to take control of their future, using smart property strategies to create long-term financial freedom.
- Locale Financial brings a fresh, transparent and approachable take on finance, always aligned with our clients' goals.
We're not your typical property and finance group. We're driven, high-energy, and young at heart, growing fast, expanding nationally, building new business units, and making bold moves in the industry.
Now, we're looking for a Group Financial Controller to help us shape the future.
The role
As Group Financial Controller, you'll sit at the heart of our growth story. Partnering with the leadership team, you'll be responsible for strengthening our financial foundations, guiding strategy, and ensuring the numbers always stack up as we scale.
This is not just about accounts and compliance (though you'll own those too). It's about being a trusted advisor and commercial thinker, helping us model the future, identify opportunities, and drive efficiency across our group operations.
This role is suited to a finance leader who thrives in a high-performing, fast-growing environment, enjoys variety, and is motivated by making a real impact across multiple business units. We're open to full-time or part-time engagement for the right candidate.
What you'll be doing
- Strategic financial leadership: Oversee group financial strategy, forecasting and scenario modelling across our three businesses (and new ventures as we grow).
- Performance and accountability: Partner with the leadership team to challenge assumptions, set performance benchmarks, and drive financial discipline across all divisions.
- Financial reporting & compliance: Ensure accurate and timely reporting, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory obligations.
- Operational oversight: Streamline accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial processes for efficiency and scalability.
- Growth & expansion support: Model national growth plans, capital requirements, and new business unit viability.
- Commercial insights: Deliver financial analysis that guides executive decision-making and supports strategic moves.
- Innovation & efficiency: Implement tools, systems, and processes that modernise and future-proof the finance function.
About you
- 5+ years' experience in finance leadership, accounting, or controllership roles (CA/CPA qualification preferred).
- A genuine passion for property, investment, and the wealth-building journey — you understand the numbers behind how people grow their futures.
- Naturally curious and commercially minded, you stay across economic trends, market movements, and growth opportunities that influence strategic decisions.
- Experienced in high-growth environments or group structures, with the ability to balance hands-on delivery and strategic oversight.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn financial insights into action and strategy.
- Skilled at setting up and optimising systems, processes, and reporting frameworks that scale.
- Collaborative, proactive, and energised by working in a high-performing, entrepreneurial team.
- Young at heart, focused on growth, and driven by continuous improvement, both personally and professionally.
What you'll get
- The opportunity to play a pivotal role in the strategic growth of a rapidly expanding group.
- Exposure across property, finance, and wealth businesses.
- A collaborative leadership team that values your expertise and input.
- Flexibility to structure your role as full-time or part-time while still making a big impact.
- A chance to shape the systems and processes that will support national expansion.
- An environment that values innovation, bold thinking, and continuous improvement.
- The chance to grow with the group - as the business expands and flourishes, you'll have opportunities for career growth and progression alongside it.
Ready to make an impact?
If you're excited by the idea of helping a high-performing, fast-growing group scale strategically while shaping its financial future, we'd love to hear from you.
Send us your CV and a quick note about why you think this role is the right fit.
