About the role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Advisor to join our team to support the Commercial Lead in two key areas essential for preserving and growing the value of APLNG assets. You'll drive the development and implementation of commercially focused strategies designed to protect asset value in high-stakes environments, particularly those involving litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution. Additionally, you be instrumental in the identification, development, and execution of business development opportunities that enhance the long-term commercial value of our asset portfolio.

More about the role:

• Assist the Commercial Lead in developing and implementing commercially driven strategies for disputes, litigation, and arbitration.
• Lead the provision of day-to-day commercial support for litigation matters, ensuring strategic alignment and effective coordination across internal and external Legal teams, Finance, Operational Joint Venture (Op JV) partners, and external auditors. This includes managing complex commercial inputs, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and supporting risk mitigation and governance processes.
• Conduct commercial analysis to support strategic decision-making and risk assessment for business development opportunities.
• Develop initiatives aimed at preserving and enhancing the value of APLNG assets.
• Identify commercial opportunities and risks across the asset portfolio.
• Provide advice on the development of commercial frameworks and models that underpin strategic growth.

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
• Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in dynamic environments.
• Clear and concise communicator with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a focus on delivering value

Desirable requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Law, Economics, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Experience in commercial advisory or legal roles, ideally within the energy, infrastructure, or resources sectors.
• Exposure to matters involving litigation, arbitration, or complex disputes (in a commercial capacity) and commercial transactions.
• Understanding of joint venture structures and asset management principles.
