Adelaide, South Australia Santos Ltd Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Don't come for an easy career. Stay for a rewarding one.
At Santos, we do work that matters and always have. When you join us, so will you.

As an ASX 20 global energy company, we're committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, "How can we?" (Even when others say, "We can't.")

We're proud of our history as pioneers, problem-solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we've got our sights set on a culture that is focussed and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.

The difference isn't just thinking big – it's delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you'll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It's no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What You'll Do
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Analyst to join the Santos team based at our global headquarters in Adelaide.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for a broad range of accounting and reporting deliverables, including reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting and providing financial analysis for the Midstream & Energy Solutions business.

The ability to co-ordinate the delivery of key business processes will be a key requirement of the role. Hence, we are looking for a candidate with strong problem solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who are seeking to be challenged and grow with the business.

Key Accountabilities Include

  • Management Reporting & Financial Analysis: Support preparation of month-end reports on key metrics and delivery to key stakeholders, monitoring of people costs and conduct in-depth financial analysis, including but not limited to, financial modelling, variance analysis, and trend forecasting to support decision-making processes
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working collaboratively with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation within financial processes and systems, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation
  • Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for action
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and accounting standards, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, fostering collaboration and communication to achieve shared financial objectives
  • Provide support to Finance projects that may arise

What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in financial analysis or related roles, preferably within the energy industry or a similar sector. You will demonstrate strong knowledge of SAP Finance systems, along with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools, and advanced-level skills in Microsoft Excel.

This role will suit an agile and adaptable professional who thrives in a varied and dynamic environment. If you are passionate about contributing to the development of new processes with a focus on shaping the 'future state' rather than maintaining the 'status quo' this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

You will also hold a bachelor's level qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or an equivalent field, along with a recognised professional certification such as ICAA, CPA, or equivalent.

What You'll Get
Here, you'll be amongst high-calibre people and get to work on industry-leading projects. We don't shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.

At Santos, we're committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you'll play a role in this too.

Each of our sites offer access to specific amenities that aim to create the best possible benefits to your health, wellbeing and performance. In Adelaide this includes Onsite Gym facilities, Onsite GP services and many more employee benefits

What You're Part Of
Everywhere you turn you will be a part of a team who are coming together to contribute to our single uniting purpose - to provide reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone

And because it's not only what you do, but how you do it, you will also contribute to improving the living standards of the communities where we operate, building enduring and respectful relationships that serve a generation. It's about each of us, and all of us – together.

How To Apply
Applications must be submitted via the online recruitment system before
COB September 9th.
