In this role you will:
- Lead system-level technical planning and forecasting for innovative Siemens products.
- Guide research and development of future measurement systems and technologies.
- Identify and assess opportunities for device, technology, and process development.
- Develop concepts and prototypes from initial need through to validation.
- Provide design solutions for verification and validation, and support product test planning.
- Mentor engineers on good design and test practices aligned with company procedures.
- Support team professional development and goal setting.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 5+ years of experience in a product design environment (rail experience desirable).
- Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of measurement systems using sensors (e.g., cameras, lasers, strobes, ultrasonics).
- Proven experience managing systems engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Ability to generate ideas and solutions from a clean slate.
- Technical leadership and support to engineering teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Familiarity with standards and documentation practices.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams and adapt to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated with a drive to succeed.
