The Department of the House of Representatives is seeking applications from enthusiastic and motivated applicants to directly support the work of the House of Representatives and members of Parliament at Parliament House in Canberra.

About the role

Step into the dynamic heart of the People Strategies Office as the Assistant Systems Administrator, where your expertise will shape the future of HR processes for the Department of the House of Representatives. In this pivotal role, you'll deliver outstanding, innovative support for the Aurion Human Resource Information Management System (HRMIS) and other HR systems, ensuring seamless operations and empowering HRMIS users with top-tier customer service.

You'll be at the forefront of collaboration and creativity, championing transformative development projects and driving smart, forward-thinking solutions that propel the department's strategic vision. This is your chance to make a tangible impact—join us and be a catalyst for meaningful change.

The Assistant Systems Administrator works autonomously and in collaboration with others across the wider People Strategies Office to deliver the system administration functions, providing support to internal and external stakeholders.

We are advertising this role as a broadband Parliamentary Services Level 5/6 (PSL 5/6) as we are open to developing the right candidate into a PSL6 over time. As the PSL5 Assistant Systems Administrator, you will have knowledge of and understanding of a range of HR legislation, internal guidelines and policies as they relate to public sector employment and conditions of service.

As the PSL6 Assistant System Administrator, you will have experience in administration and management of Aurion or similar Human Resources Management Information System including conducting configuration changes and enhancements in a similar sized commercial or government environment. A strong understanding of HR regulations and best practices, hands-on experience in HRMIS systems (e.g. Aurion) and a strong knowledgeable of HR processes such as establishments, payroll, recruitment and their interconnections.
