Our client is a large and reputable Not-For-Profit healthcare organisation on the Upper North Shore. Joining their busy Information Services team, this role helps maintain a stable technology environment and deliver high-quality IS services across the organisation.

The Data Warehouse Engineer supports the organisation's digital transformation by designing, developing and maintaining the Enterprise Data Warehouse and data pipelines, contributing to a future data mesh architecture and strong data governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data warehouse solutions, including data sourcing, ETL processes and data models
  • Support Business Analysts and Project Managers with data presentation needs
  • Monitor and optimise data warehouse performance, reliability and security
  • Design and develop data mining models and algorithms
  • Deliver data analysis and reporting using BI tools and dashboards
  • Recommend new technologies and best practices
  • Ensure data quality through validation and cleansing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and warehouse issues
  • Collaborate with software developers, vendors, contractors and business leaders

About You

  • 5+ years' experience in data warehouse management, development and optimisation (ideally in complex or regulated settings)
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering or related field
  • Advanced SQL and ETL/ELT experience (SSIS, Azure Data Factory or C# solutions)
  • Knowledge of data mesh principles, data lakehouse architectures and orchestration frameworks
  • Experience with Power BI, SSRS and integration services
  • Strong understanding of data governance and data quality
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in Agile and Waterfall environments on multiple initiatives
  • Experience with Python or R for automation or data profiling

This is a minimum 3-month temporary role with strong potential to become permanent. The office is on the Upper North Shore and best suited to someone with their own transport.  

Hourly rate: $58–$61 + super, negotiable depending on experience.

Hours: Office-based only. Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 8:00am–5:00pm, with a half-day off each fortnight.
