Global Remuneration Analyst – EL1

12 month contract + possible extension options. 

Salary Range: $123,163 – $137,768

Location: Canberra (with flexible working arrangements, subject to approval)

Contract: Federal Government Department

Clearance: Must hold and maintain minimum NV1 Security Clearance

We are seeking an experienced Global Remuneration Analyst to join a federal government department in Canberra. This role will suit someone with strong technical expertise in HR, accounting, Excel (including PowerQuery), and the analysis of remuneration and economic data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct annual reviews of remuneration packages (salary and non-salary benefits) across 100+ overseas missions.
  • Apply actuarial data and market intelligence to recommend adjustments, including in complex environments (e.g. hyperinflation, political instability).
  • Maintain and enhance the remuneration analysis model (Excel-based), ensuring accuracy, scalability, and ease of use.
  • Manage data inputs, documentation, and methodologies to support audit-ready decision-making.
  • Lead procurement and integration of market data from external providers.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, including Heads of Missions/Posts, to incorporate local context into salary outcomes.
  • Oversee survey coordination across global missions, ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
  • Provide high-level strategic advice, contribute to quality assurance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the department in professional engagements and collaborate with internal and external experts.

About You:

  • Demonstrated expertise in remuneration analysis, HR, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PowerQuery, with the ability to maintain and enhance data models.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and apply it to strategic decisions.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement experience in challenging and diverse environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, defensible advice.
  • Current NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory).
