About the role

Our Sydney-based Corporate and Financial Services team is seeking a Lawyer to join our growing practice. This role offers a diverse mix of corporate and financial services work, with a particular focus on primary sectors in the financial services market including investment funds, managed investments, banking, payments in and insurance products and services with a particular interest in the digital economy including digital assets, and related broader corporate/commercial matters.

This role will see you supporting in the delivery of high-quality, practical advice across areas such as:

  • Chapter 7 (Financial Services regime) and Part 5C (managed investment schemes) of the Corporations Act
  • Financial services licensing, compliance, governance and disclosure
  • AML/CTF obligations and compliance
  • Banking and Payments including digital economy Fundraising and licensing matters
  • Emerging fintech and digital assets and such as crypto
  • Advising clients on the development and launch of innovative financial products and solutions.
  • Leading edge market developments such as ESG and greenwashing

You'll gain exposure to a variety of regulatory frameworks and regulators in the financial markets, have the opportunity to work directly with clients, and contribute to our innovative approach to service delivery—leveraging technology to provide efficient, tailored legal solutions.

This role offers the chance to develop expertise across multiple areas under the mentorship of a close knit and senior legal team who are specialists in their respective financial services sectors, work with high-profile clients, and build a strong commercial grounding in both corporate and financial services law.

About you

We welcome applications from lawyers who are newly admitted or have up to 2 years' post-admission experience. Prior experience in financial services or corporate law is valued but not essential—what matters most is an interest in regulatory, compliance, and corporate work with demonstrated commercial acumen.

To succeed in this role, you will be:

  • Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia or NZ
  • Genuinely interested in corporate and financial services regulation
  • Keen to develop expertise in banking, payments, funds and the investment sector including funds and financial planners
  • Comfortable working across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication skills
  • Commercially minded, curious, and willing to learn in a high-performing team environment
