The Role
The Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) Chronic Pain Psychologist, will plan, coordinate, assess and deliver high quality psychological assessments and treatments for the management of patients with chronic pain conditions referred to the RHW multidisciplinary Chronic Pain Service and will conduct pain management programs in association with other team members.
The psychologist will provide high quality, person- centred, evidence based psychological services to improve the health outcomes of women and their families utilising the service.

Selection Criteria
- Full Registration with Psychology Board of Australia, along with Endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress towards same). Two-year full-time equivalent accredited postgraduate Masters/Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in a health setting working with persistent pain and chronic illness patients.
- Experience providing evidence based, trauma informed individual and group psychological therapies for chronic pain
- Experience working with women at different life stages (including adolescence, perinatal, menopause), and including with issues around fertility and sexual health
- Experience in development of or working in group multidisciplinary pain programs, including with programs run online
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels.
- Extensive ability to work effectively within the multidisciplinary team, prioritise workload and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgment when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical research, or ability to develop skills in clinical research.
