Ken Cush & Associates is a multiple award-winning specialist personal injury and human rights firm located in Braddon, ACT.

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our busy practice and to work with one of our Principal Solicitors and team in our historical sexual abuse practice.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Proactive calendar management for solicitors, barristers, clients and witnesses including arranging medico-legal appointments and liaising with people to arrange conferences and attending hearings.

  • Preparing, reviewing and filing Court documents in various jurisdictions across Australia

  • Preparing and compiling briefs to Counsel in both physical and electronic format including adding bookmarks and hyperlinks in Adobe Acrobat

  • Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines

  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills

  • File management and maintaining both physical and electronic files

  • Typing and general administrative tasks

  • Assisting and supporting a Principal Solicitor and the workflow with team members

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous administrative experience

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Showing initiative and ability to work proactively

  • Strong time management skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work well independently and with members of the team
