Cost Optimisation Lead

Our client is a is a global leader in smart transport technology, building solutions that make commuting and commercial mobility safer and smarter.

We are currently seeking a Cost Optimisation lead to oversee and implement a range of cost reductions initiatives. The individual will not only diagnose areas for improvement but also take ownership of supplier reviews ensuring measurable benefits to the business.

On offer is a 3 month day rate contract with the possibility for a 3 month extension, based out of our clients South Melbourne office 2-3 days per week with the remaining from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Analysis
  • Review and assess defined business expenditures and cost drivers.
  • Gather and interpret data to identify cost savings.
  • Benchmark Verra Mobility expenditures against the best deals in the market.
  • Highlight specific areas where cost savings can be achieved.
  • Quantify opportunities with clear financial benefits.
  • Prioritise opportunities based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with strategic goals.

Implementation Leadership & Measurement

  • Ensure stakeholder engagement through effective consultation and communication.
  • Engage with business leadership and teams to deliver agreed cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and success measures.
  • Negotiate new supplier agreements and service contracts including, but not limited to facilities, utilities and freight.
  • Monitor progress and report on realised benefits against targets.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proven experience in expenditure analysis and cost optimisation.
  • Project management expertise, with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Self-starter who can hit the running ground and work independently to produce desired results

  • Delivery of identified cost savings within agreed timeframes.
  • Positive feedback from stakeholders on the effectiveness of implementation.
  • Sustained improvements embedded into the business.
