ABOUT
GEMCO
Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world's manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a Permanent position on a 7:7 roster, rotating day / night shift, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.
As the
Mining Supervisor
, you will be responsible for providing supervision and leadership of the ancillary/dozer mining crews to safely execute the daily and weekly plan.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Execute work safely according to 24-hour and weekly plans.
- Provide leadership through workplace interactions and ensure adherence to procedures.
- Manage people processes, including leave, performance, and disciplinary actions.
- Collaborate with maintenance and support services to drive safety and operational efficiency
- Supervising drill & blast activities, pump crew and general ancillary operations
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Strong mining industry experience with knowledge of open cut methods and legislation.
- Proven ability to select, develop, and mentor employees for enhanced engagement and diversity.
- Positive role model and supportive leader, effectively supervising large teams.
- Understanding safety, health, and risk management frameworks, with an improvement mindset.
- Prior experience in pumps operations and strategies highly regarded
Qualifications for this position are:
- Mining Supervisor competency G1, G8, G9 (or willing to obtain)
- G2 Risk Management – highly desirable
- Current manual drivers licence
