About this role:

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution. This role is pivotal in translating stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable deliverables for our application developers/software solution providers and ensuring that solutions align with business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of workflow creation, process mapping, and data visualisation, combined with technical acumen in APIs, integrations, and software development.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

• Work with school leaders and teaching/general staff to understand business needs and define requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for internal developers or external software providers.
• Prepare and maintain business requirements documents (BRD), functional requirements documents (FRD), Use Cases, and User Stories.
• Create detailed workflows, process maps, and supporting documentation using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or
• Analyse current processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend changes to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery.
• Apply industry standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO, BPMN) when reviewing and improving processes.
  
  Collaborate with technical teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure solutions are implemented as specified.
• Assist in system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring solutions meet agreed requirements.
• Ensure all solutions comply with applicable data privacy laws and internal policies.
• Investigate system or process issues and work with technical teams to resolve them in a timely manner.
• Maintain clear communication channels between stakeholders and project teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
• Collaborate with developers to review and validate project timelines, assist in prioritising tasks, and ensure development efforts are aligned with agreed requirements, avoiding premature or low-value work.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

• At least 2 years demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in an educational environment.
• Ability to document and map processes clearly and accurately.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
• Experience using workflow and process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, ).
• Solid understanding of BRD, FRD, Use Case, and User Story documentation standards.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Awareness of cybersecurity considerations and data privacy regulations relevant to education.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse situations and recommend improvements.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, CSM, PSM, Diploma of Business Analysis) will be well regarded.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders, assess priorities, and coordinate with developers to determine the optimal timing for development, ensuring resources are used effectively and efforts remain focused on delivering agreed outcomes.
• Working with Children Check number for paid employment
• Unrestricted drivers licence and access to a motor vehicle of good mechanical order.
