Legal Counsel

The Opportunity:

We're looking for a Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team and support Revo Fitness through a dynamic phase of national growth. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you'll play a pivotal role in managing legal risk and enabling strategic decision-making – with a focus on property, leasing, and commercial law.

In this hands-on role, you'll take a lead on reviewing, drafting and negotiating property-related transaction documents including leases, licences, and acquisition documentation. You'll also provide support to the team on general contract and commercial matters such as supplier contracts, marketing agreements, and confidentiality agreements. This is an opportunity to make your mark in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where legal advice is expected to be clear, commercial, and pragmatic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Property & Leasing Transactions: Draft, review and negotiate commercial and retail leases and related documents, balancing legal risk with business needs.
• Legal Document Management: Assist in maintaining and updating leasing and other legal templates, streamlining processes, and supporting the business with accurate, accessible documentation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver clear, commercially focused legal advice on property and commercial matters.
• Contract & Commercial Support: Draft, review and negotiate general commercial agreements as required, managing risk and translating complex terms into practical guidance for non-legal teams.
• Risk & Compliance Advisory: Identify key risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements across the business.
• Regulatory & Legal Updates: Stay across developments in property and commercial law, providing relevant updates and insights to help inform business decision-making.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• 5–10 years post admission experience, with significant experience in property and leasing matters in private practice.
• Strong drafting and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal language and concepts and write clearly in plain English.
• Proven experience in managing property transactions, including commercial and retail leases, licences, and related negotiations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, with a collaborative approach and confidence liaising across all levels of the business.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment, with the ability to assess risk and provide commercially minded legal advice and recommendations.
• Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple matters at once while maintaining quality, responsiveness and meeting deadlines.
• Relevant legal qualifications and a current practising certificate, with a strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
