Exciting  food destination Ruben's Deli is looking for a talented, Senior Sous chef to join the team.

Ruben's is an upmarket, super modern business in a beautiful , cool store befitting fashionable High St and one of Melbourne's most exclusive suburbs, Armadale. We've quickly become known for our incredible sandwiches (labelled Melbourne's best Reuben) our fish display,(uniquely smoking, curing and hand slicing all our own fish in our own custom smoker) incredible salads, desserts and glamorous catering offer. The emphasis is on quirky, modern food, using the best seasonal ingredients that wouldn't be out of place in New York or London.

We're looking for a passionate, creative senior sous chef with great leadership skills and a love of bold American Italian flavours who can help run the kitchen and deliver restaurant quality food to our customers.

We're on the search for someone super creative , with great attention to detail and flavour driven who wants to push the boundaries with our New York inspired feel. We're a young growing business with lots of room for career development.

Ideally you will have some experience smoking meat and fish, pickling and preserving. A background in a busy high end kitchen or designer catering company would be beneficial.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with staff and operations management, recipes and menu development. This role is ideal for an ambitious candidate who is looking to be part of a young, successful business as it expands.
