From the ground up, we deliver quality results across pipeline construction and refurbishment, pump stations, reservoirs, and treatment plants. Our success comes from our people — a skilled and dedicated team of Project Managers, Foremen, Supervisors, and delivery crews, many of whom have been part of the Dormway family for over a decade.

We now have an opportunity for a Design Manager who will lead the design and development function, ensuring all projects and bundles are effectively scoped, grouped, and prioritised for successful delivery.

Working collaboratively with Unitywater, and in partnership with Dormway's trusted design partners, you'll drive Dormway's Development function — delivering high-quality, coordinated design outcomes that align with program objectives and strategic priorities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review forward works program to ensure continuous workflow for all projects
  • Liaise with planning Teams, design partners, local councils, and stakeholder engagement teams to coordinate and manage design timeframes.
  • Attendance at governance, planning, and coordination meetings.
  • Provide accurate project updates and reporting through Dormway's management systems.
  • Attend and coordinate site inspections to assess conditions, costs, and design requirements.
  • Develop efficient and practical project programs with realistic sequencing and production rates.
  • Support construction methodology reviews to identify innovative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure a seamless transition from design to construction.

About You

You're a motivated design or project professional with a passion for delivering practical, high-quality outcomes in the water and wastewater infrastructure space. You enjoy working collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced program environment.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction, design, or project delivery within water/wastewater or pipeline sectors.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software (MS Project and/or Primavera).
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Sound financial and commercial acumen.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
