Accountant – Full-Time

Global Sources Australia is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Alexandria, Sydney. This is a full-time ongoing role suitable for candidates who have full work rights in Australia (no work limitations).

Responsibilities:

· Prepare and examine financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

· Manage the full accounts payable and receivable process, including reconciliation and payment/collection cycles.

· Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely reporting and variance analysis.

· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and the preparation of financial projections.

· Ensure compliance with Australian taxation legislation including GST, BAS, PAYG, and superannuation obligations.

· Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper document retention procedures.

· Liaise with internal departments (purchasing, operations, and warehouse) to align financial practices with business activities.

· Support process improvements and the implementation of new financial systems and tools.

· Provide general financial and administrative support to the CFO, including ad hoc financial tasks and analysis.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

· Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting.

· Experience working in or with international businesses such as Big4 firms is highly regarded.

· Proficiency in accounting software and strong MS Excel skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

· Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance.

· Must be able to work full-time without visa restrictions.

· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: $76,515 per annum + superannuation.
