Course Superintendent

Rockingham Golf Club is currently seeking the services of a passionate and qualified Course Superintendent to lead our greenkeeping team.

The golf course is an 18-hole course, established in 1984 and is situated on the coastal sand plain amongst natural bushland with abundant native flora and fauna and is a regulated bush forever site.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Superintendent will oversee all maintenance of the course and surrounds, including turf health, irrigation, equipment maintenance, rostering and the mentoring and coaching of the greenkeeping team. Working closely with the General Manager, Course Committee and volunteers, the Superintendent will advise and lead to ensure the course is of an exceptional standard at all times. Additionally, you will be involved in strategic and operational planning, in line with both the Club's Strategic and Course Management plans. This is a hands-on role in all areas of turf management to implement the course preparation and maintenance policies and directives.

Position Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate III or higher in Sports Turf Management or Horticulture or equivalent
• Current C class driver's licence
• Right to work in Australia
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of reticulation, pest management, disease management, turf growth and operation of course maintenance equipment
• Experience in budget management and rostering
• Excellent communication and engagement skills
• Experience with irrigation control software and Microsoft Office software
• Preparedness to work across seven days a week

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver all turf management, landscaping, irrigation and equipment programs on time and to specification
• Weed, pest and disease management
• Coach and mentor the greenkeeping team including identifying and implementing appropriate training and development programs
• Ensure compliance with OHS policies and legislation, including safe operation of equipment and environmental regulations
• Ensure that irrigation systems are operating to their capacity and that water management is of paramount importance
• Establish, monitor and oversee equipment maintenance schedules, machinery pre-starts and ensure safe operation of this equipment
• Maintain accurate operational records and drive continuous improvement of processes and procedures
• Ensure that capital and operational expense budgets are adhered to or bettered.
