Karrawatta Viticulture is looking for a vineyard operator to work on vineyards in the McLaren Vale wine region. We currently operate vineyards in multiple wine regions and are looking to expand our team in McLaren Vale to enable us to carry out the service levels required for our clients.

Your role will be to carry out tractor operations including spraying, slashing, trimming and harvest work as well as the full range of manual tasks including pruning, vine training, trellis repairs, fence repairs, irrigation operations and maintenance.

We are looking for someone with experience in vineyard, horticulture or similar work, who is competent with tractors and implements and who is physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all weather.  Chemical user accreditation and a forklift license would be an advantage.  A current driver's license is essential.

The nature of our industry is seasonal and at the mercy of the weather, so there is the requirement that some work will take place outside normal working hours, especially during the spray season and harvest.  During peak demand at vintage time, you may be asked to help further afield.

You will be well supervised by experienced staff with the backing of an extensive team but will also need to be productive when working alone for periods of time. We are looking for someone with good attention to detail, good time management and who can carry out the job record keeping we require on our vineyard management phone app. Whilst previous machinery operating and vineyard experience is preferred, we are prepared to provide training for any motivated applicant.
