St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc. (St John) is a self-funding charitable organisation. We are dedicated to helping the people of Northern Territory in sickness, distress, suffering and danger.  We provide emergency and non-emergency ambulance services under contract to the Northern Territory Government and deliver a range of first aid services including world class first aid training, first aid kits and medical services at events to enable public safety.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and adaptable team member to join our organisation in a receptionist role. This position covers a range of essential duties, with a particular focus on customer service, data entry, database management and processing travel allowances.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Customer Service: Answer internal and external calls, monitor visitor access and provide general advice on St John NT products and services
  • Data Entry: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the Siren Ambulance Case Reporting System.
  • Database Maintenance: Manage and maintain the Ambulance Subscription Scheme.
  • Travel allowances: Process payment of employee Travel and living away from home allowances.
  • Information Handling: Collect, store, and manage sensitive information in a timely, secure, and confidential manner consistent with organisational policy and privacy standards.

ABOUT YOU

You Have:

  • A strong grasp of basic mathematics, especially in time management and number sequencing.
  • The ability to follow digital instructions for accurate data entry and retrieval.
  • Solid communication skills – you're approachable, professional, and know how to build strong working relationships.
  • Experience in organising and recording routine information using standard formats.
  • A proactive approach – you follow instructions, track your progress, and meet deadlines with ease.
  • Confidence in solving task-related problems and making sound, low-impact decisions.

You Bring:

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Certificate II in Accounts Administration or Business (desirable).
  • Experience working in a Not-for-Profit organisation – you understand mission-driven work.
  • Effective time management skills, multi-tasking skills, and organisational skills.
