About the Role

Inner West Window Specialists (IWWS) is seeking a highly experienced Carpenter to take a lead role within our team. This position is suited to someone who values craftsmanship, heritage work, and sustainability, and who has the experience to manage projects and lead a small team on site.

You'll be responsible for restoring and upgrading timber windows and doors across residential and commercial projects. From repairs to glazing and acoustic upgrades, you'll oversee work quality, direct team members, and ensure projects run smoothly.

This role is hands-on and reports directly to the Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team on site, overseeing workflow, quality, and safety.
  • Restore and upgrade heritage timber windows and doors, including draught/acoustic sealing, glazing, machining, overhauls, and wood rot repairs.
  • Interpret project requirements and ensure work is carried out to a high standard.
  • Communicate effectively with the Director, clients, and the team.
  • Maintain site organisation and ensure vans and equipment are properly stocked and maintained.
  • Uphold safety and heritage restoration procedures at all times.

Must-Haves

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter with strong skills in timber and restoration work.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a team on site.
  • Carpentry trade qualification (or equivalent).
  • Manual driver's license.
  • Heritage restoration experience highly regarded
