The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a
Senior SMSF Accountant
to take on a key role within the firm. With approximately 200 high-quality SMSFs under management, the firm is seeking a capable professional who can deliver technical compliance while also enjoy the opportunity to delve into
business advisory/ services engagements (i.e. non-SMSF)
.
The successful candidate will be trained for
team supervision responsibilities
, with a clear development pathway and mentorship from experienced leaders. You will also work alongside an established offshore team to ensure efficiency in compliance delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end SMSF compliance, including financials, tax returns, and audit prep
- Work directly with HNWI clients and their advisors to deliver tailored solutions
- Contribute to the firm's business advisory projects (this is a core part of the role)
- Review work completed by junior and offshore team members, providing feedback and support
- Stay abreast of industry developments, ensuring best practice standards are upheld
- Assist in managing workflows and supporting the broader SMSF team's operational needs
About You
- 4-5+ years' experience in SMSF accounting within a public practice setting
- CA/CPA qualified or close to completion
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of SMSFs
- Strong interest in business advisory work
- Professional and articulate communicator, comfortable dealing with high-calibre clients
- Eager to step into a leadership role and help mentor junior team members
