Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Accounting: 2-3+ years of experience working in a public practice.
  • Software Knowledge: Exposure to Xero and Microsoft applications is advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Professional Development: Holding a current membership or working towards a membership with a professional accounting organization (CA / CPA reimbursement scheme with study leave entitlements to support).

What You'll Be Doing

  • BASs, Financial Statements & Income Tax Preparation: Work alongside senior accountants to prepare income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies.
  • Advisory Services: Support Managers and Directors in delivering advisory services including high level tax matters, Capital Gains Calculations, Fringe Benefit Tax, Div7a loan agreements, small business concessions and tax effective structuring.
  • Bookkeeping and Payroll Services: Assist with managing and reconciling client Xero/MYOB files and completing payroll for clients.
  • Client Interaction: Build strong client relationships and act as first point of contact for accounting and tax matters and to understand and support their accounting and business needs.
  • Personal Management: Prioritise and manage deadlines effectively to ensure firm wide targets and obligations are met.
