About us

Portsmith Fuel & Oil, a locally owned North Queensland company are seeking the services of suitably qualified Truck and Dog Driver that can also cover leave for Depot Operations and Scheduling on a Full-time basis at their Cairns Depot. _______________________________________________

Qualifications & experience

  • HC/ MC licence.
  • Must have previous experience as a truck driver; fuel experience preferred
  • Bulk Dangerous Goods licence
  • An SLP passport
  • Attention to detail and the ability complete all required paperwork
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Previous experience with Fatigue Management desirable
  • The ability to work weekends, early mornings and/or evenings
  • Both Apply and Administer Fatigue Strategies Qualifications preferred but not essential.

Driving Tasks & responsibilities

  • Completing daily pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment
  • Complete logbook and fatigue management procedures
  • Follow instructions from schedulers for daily duties, trip sheets and timeframes
  • Develop positive relationships with customers
  • Loading, transportation and delivery of fuels
  • Ensure safety and compliance is adhered to at all times

Operations Tasks & responsibilities

  • Answering customer calls and handling customer orders
  • Delivery scheduling of products and drivers
  • Scheduling truck maintenance
  • Day to day running of the depot
